Creepy Camping: Short Scary Stories Part 2 and Writing Advice

He walked throughout the woods, each twig under his feet crunching loudly, each thought in his mind doing the exact same. His thoughts were scrambled like eggs in a skillet, his leg starting to bleed out. His mind wandered to what had happened the previous day, what got him here.
He woke up in the morning, forgetting the promise he had made to his wife. He went downstairs, after getting dressed of course. He was simply ready to have some breakfast, a tasty breakfast, indeed. However, when he reached downstairs, he realized breakfast would have to be cut short. At first he had no idea why his two children, Sophia and Walter, were dressed in camping gear. Then, he finally remembered that he had promised to take the kids camping while his wife secretly planned Walter's eight birthday party at the house. The day was supposed to be fun, go out in the wilderness and camp out through the night until morning when they would return for the party, but it turned into something much worse. He then began to think about the camping trip itself, and how it went completely south...
Writing Advice: Notice how when writing a short story, like this is, I decided to not mention the main character's name to add to the ominousness of the situation. I also left it on a cliffhanger to add to that same ominous vibe. Subscribe for part 2 and return for when we post another short story like this.
